The launch of AIA UK in January 2000 is intended to bring to Britain the high standards of teaching and information dissemination on aromatherapy, which has marked the progress of AIA in the USA as being America's principle and leading authority in this field. AIA UK will announce a program of lecture topics in and around aromatherapy, essential oils, plant lore and natural and advanced perfumery. These are intended to be given in the form of 2 or 4 day courses, planned around weekends. Full details will be announced shortly. The director of AIA UK is Tony Burfield, who has been working closely with Sylla Sheppard-Hanger in a series of collaborative projects, the most ambitious being the re-written and fully referenced Aromatherapy Practitioner Correspondence Course released in November, 1999. Future projects include the publication of a reference book on odor profiles in essential oils (nine years in the making!) and the second edition of the Aromatherapy Practitioner Reference Manual. Visit Tony's web page at www.TonyBurfield.co.uk Other course topics to be announced shortly will include " Advantaged Distillation for Extraction of Essential Oils & Absolutes", "Plant Lore", "Basic Aromatherapy". Please ring to confirm venue and dates of future courses, (++44) 1908 543642, email, nodice@globalnet.co.uk or via The White House, Yardley Gobion, Northants NN12 7TW, England. Return Of, the Son Of, Tony Burfield's Magazine Page Moved on from http://www.grahampage.com to AIA UK, this little sequence of occasional articles to be sited here, represents a miscellany of interesting topics around essential oils and aromatherapy, sometimes heavyweight, sometimes lightweight, and occasionally hopefully humorous. We value feedback, so please comment, or offer material if you are able to! © 1996 - 2002, Atlantic Institute of Aromatherapy |
